Social action accesibility

Social actions should be an example of best practice regarding full accessibility.

The message is simple: every action on this matter should be designed so that people with disabilities can benefit from it. If the social action is addressed to immigrants, declining neighbourhoods, development cooperation projects, we have to take into account that we will find people with disabilities in all these situations, therefore we have to ensure that these actions will not exclude them due to lack of accessibility.

We also need to consider that people with disabilities are not only the beneficiaries of these actions, they can also cooperate and actively participate in these kind of processes, as for example in companies’ voluntary programmes where employees allocate a number of working hours to a certain objective; some of these employees might be people with disabilities.
